What some parents said about our 'Cooking on A Budget/Slow Cooking Course'

We asked them - What did you enjoy most about the course?

  • Loved meeting people and enjoyed cooking different things
  • I enjoyed all the course but most of all I enjoyed cooking different recipes and learning different methods of cooking
  • All of the course.  Staff were brilliant and also trying new foods
  • Being able to try foods I wouldn’t usually try or eat.  Working in a small group helped with my anxiety
  • I gained a lot of new recipes and different ways to cook things I already made

What would you tell other parents about the course?

  • I’d encourage other parents to join the course to learn and understand healthy cooking on a budget
  • I would tell other parents this is a brilliant course to do.
  • Learning how to cook really nice healthy meals on a budget for the family
  • Try it even if you don’t think you’ll gain anything new.
  • It’s surprised me just how much I’ve actually learnt.  I have so many new recipes and techniques
  • It’s friendly and relaxed and it’s given me the chance to try different food.  My son enjoyed the mince and dumplings

With Christmas just around the corner as a member of the Credit Union you will have the opportunity to save as well as access low cost loans.

Don’t forget if you need a replacement cooker, washer, fridge freezer, TV or other electrical item it can be supplied through the Credit Union who work with Coop Electrical to provide this service to members.  You can pay cash or apply for a Credit Union loan.

Members can take advantage of the Engage Card which is much more than just a pre-paid debit card.  You can use it for shopping to earn cashback from a huge list of shops e.g. Asda, Tesco, New Look, Boots and Argos. You can self-load from your bank account.  It can be used to pay direct debits or have benefits paid to it.  For 8 – 16 year olds they offer a Smart Cash Card for young people.  This can be used instead of carrying cash and help them to improve their budgeting skills.

Pioneer also offer pre-paid funeral plans through Golden Charter.  There are a range of options available for this.
