This Term's Topic: Where Do I Live? Christmas and Advent.
Literacy: Basic writing skills (name writing and recognition, letter formations) Talk4writing.
Read Write inc phonics scheme: Speed Sounds, reading CVC words e.g cat mat, mad, sad, sat.
Numeracy: number recognition, rote counting, 1:1 counting with objects.
Global Learning: Our community/where we live
Events: 5th December Danby Forest Trip, Maths workshop with Mr Forster.
This Term's Topic: Where does the snow go? People who help us?
Literacy: sentence writing, talk4writing,
Numeracy: practical addition and subtraction, 2D/3D shape recognition and their properties, size, weight and capacity.
Global Learning: How people in society can help us.
This Term's Topic: Which was the biggest dinosaur? Can I have a dog yet?
Literacy: Sentence/story writing, talk4writing.
Numeracy: Number recognition and counting, practical addition and subtraction, doubling, halving and sharing, position and distance.

Global Learning: Life on land/How can we look after animals and plants?
In Reception we provide children with a reading book and record which we expect to be read and signed on a daily basis.We provide children with sight word lists weekly which we expect to be practised at home daily to improve their reading. Homework will be given out every Friday and each child in Reception will receive a homework book to complete their weekly homework task.
PE & Extracurricular Clubs
Reception will have PE on a Thursday afternoon. Each child must have their own PE kit that includes plimsolls, shorts and a t-shirt. Full details can be found on the uniform section of the school website.
There are a host of extracurricular clubs available to your child after school throughout the week. These can be monitored via the calendar on the school website.
