KS2 - Year 3
Welcome to our Year 3 class page ...
In Year 3, we have a daily schedule in which English, Maths and Reading are taught every morning, with an exciting range of Foundation Subjects each afternoon. Our team consists of class teacher Miss Stephenson, Teaching Assistant Mrs Wilson and Mrs Hindshaw and Teaching Student Miss Rowland with Life Smart taught by Mrs Gamesby and PE taught by Mr. Curtis and Mrs. Wilson.
We will be exploring three fantastic topics this year. In the Autumn term, children will study volcanoes and the history of Italy, following the disasters which 'rocked' the world, followed by the Myths and Legends of Ancient Greece in Spring and finally Rivers in Summer. We link and incorporate our 17 Sustainable Development Goals into our work.
We will be using a range of methods throughout the year including 'Talk 4 Writing' and 'Slow Writing' to help children structure their ideas and creatively develop their writing style.
RE will follow the 'Come and See' approach in which the Catechism of the Catholic Church addresses the search for meaning in life. God’s initiative in Revelation who comes to meet us and our response of faith. This pattern guides the structure of the programme and informs the process of each topic, opened up through; Explore, Reveal and Respond.
